GRADUATE PROFILE

The graduate is awarded a second-cycle diploma (Master’s degree) in Composition and Music Theory, with a specialization in Eurhythmics in Education and Health Prevention.

The graduate is qualified for:

  • artistic and academic work in higher education institutions,
  • teaching in music education of all levels, general education, ballet schools and cultural institutions,
  • conducting eurhythmics classes in inclusive educational institutions, as well as in therapeutic and care centers.

Graduates of second-cycle studies are competent to:

  • implement their own artistic concepts and projects,
  • conduct classes in eurhythmics, piano improvisation, rhythmic ensemble, movement techniques and teaching methodology,
  • accompany dance classes,
  • apply their knowledge of contemporary compositional techniques and music literature in their didactic and artistic work,
  • apply eurhythmics as an activity that supports therapy and health prevention,
  • create preventive programs and promote health-oriented behaviors,
  • work independently and cooperate in large teams,
  • apply psychological mechanisms supporting professional work,
  • explore academic and artistic areas in order to develop their personalities.
 
MASTER’S STUDIES

The program is aimed at bachelor's degree graduates who wish to deepen their knowledge and skills in music, movement and improvisation.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS

EURHYTHMICS

  • Performance of rhythms resulting from irregular division of bars 4/4 and 9/8.
  • Performance of a polyrhythm formed from the superimposition of 2 and 3; 3 and 4; 4 and 5 equal rhythmic values at the same time.
  • Performance by movement of a 2-voice polyrhythm in which one plan is an ostinato.
  • Free movement improvisation to improvised piano accompaniment.

PIANO IMPROVISATION

  • Free piano improvisation on the material from a scale chosen by the committee (whole-tone, twelve-tone, pentatonic).
  • Improvisation based on the major-minor system in a style chosen by the committee (classical, romantic).
  • Illustration of an imposed metrorhythmic problem.
  • Performance of an accompaniment to a song from the children's repertoire (preparation time: 20 minutes).

INTERVIEW concerning:

  • motivation and expectations regarding the chosen field of study,
  • the candidate's knowledge of eurhythmics,
  • artistic interests.
