Bachelor’s & Master’s studies
FOR STUDENTS
Piano studies prepare the Student for the profession of a solo instrumentalist, chamber musician and a teacher. Students deepen their knowledge, improve their performance skills and shape the artistic personality. During their studies, students have the opportunity to perform on stage in the concert series e.g. Estrada Młodych (Youth Stage) and Wieczory Muzyczne (Musical Evenings), as well as at the concerts organized by scientific circles and in other academic centers in Poland and abroad. They participate in workshops and master classes led by renowned Polish and foreign Artists. Our Piano Students win many prizes at national and international competitions every year. They have the opportunity to play on excellent new pianos. They get to know a large repertoire that covers all eras from the Baroque period to the present day.
In the study program one can find a variety of major and specialized subjects, at the first cycle these include e.g.: piano, basics of chamber music, improvisation, instrument construction, accompaniment study; whereas at the second cycle these are, for instance: chamber music, instrument construction with tuning and conservation rules; and in the soloist module additionally: working with a conductor and improvisation.
GRADUATE PROFILE
The Graduate is qualified to be an instrumental musician: soloist and chamber musician, can continue to develop his/her skills in postgraduate studies, is a comprehensively educated musician, an instrumentalist with broad theoretical and practical knowledge enabling independent stage activity, on the basis of the experience gained during his/her studies, through a conscious choice of specialization, independently plans his/her further professional career.
BACHELOR’S STUDIES
The Bachelor's degree studies in Instrumental Music are addressed to musically talented candidates who wish to continue their musical education and, above all, to perfect their instrumental skills on a chosen instrument.

During the second-cycle studies (Master's degree program), Students can continue to improve their musical skills and develop their interests as well as their professional career.

ENTRANCE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS
BACHELOR’S STUDIES
MAIN INSTRUMENT
Performance of a programme within the scope of the Secondary Music School Diploma.
- J. S. Bach - Prelude and fugue (‘Das wohltemperierte Klavier’).
- A classical sonata (recommended L. van Beethoven Sonata – the Commission reserves the right to choose one of the movements).
- Etude by F. Chopin, Op. 10 or Op. 25 (excluding the Etude in E major, Op. 10 No. 3, E flat minor, Op. 10 No. 6, C sharp minor, Op. 25 No. 7).
- A piece by F. Chopin.
- The program must be performed from memory.
OTHER BASIC EXAMINATIONS
- Self-Preparation of a piece of music (during one hour)
- Sight-reading
MASTER’S STUDIES
MAIN INSTRUMENT
- A whole classical sonata.
- A virtuoso piece (etude recommended).
- Any piece from the romantic period.
- The program must be performed from memory.
INTERVIEW CONCERNING
- the candidate's motivation for continuing studies;
- the candidate's specialized interests and expectations regarding the candidate's chosen specialisation;
- the candidate's career plans.
